Conocida por su compromiso con la justicia racial y la representación positiva de las comunidades negras en Puerto Rico. Fundadora de Movimiento Anansé Inc. y étnica, la primera plataforma multimedios y revista en Puerto Rico para visibilizar y representar positivamente a las comunidades negras.
Autora de obras literarias: "Hebras" y "Negro, negrito”. Además ha publicado en la Revista Teen Vogue y Afroféminas entre otras.
Su trabajo ha sido reconocido internacionalmente, incluyendo publicaciones en Oprah Magazine, A+J, Be Latina, Remezcla, LOUD de Spotify, mitú, Okay Africa, The Pulitzer Center y en el documental Afrolatinxs Revolution: Puerto Rico.
En el año, 2022 fue una de las 16 recipientes del premio de justicia racial: Justice Rising Award de Open Society Foundation. En el 2023 recibió una beca para residencia artística en Bellagio Italia de Rockefeller Foundation y en el 2024 recibió la distinción de Mujer del Año de Puerto Rico por USA Today. En ese mismo año fue seleccionada por L'Oreal como una de las 45 Mujeres que Mueven el Caribe. En el 2025 su proyecto Hebras y Vejigantes realizado con el artista Juan Pablo Vizcaíno Cortijo fue seleccionado de más de tres mil piezas para The Outwin 2025: American Portraiture Today del National Portrait Gallery del Smisthonian.
Es parte del Colectivo de Poesía Afroversiva, miembro de la Junta de Directores del Centro de Periodismo Investigativo, La Colmena Cimarrona de Bieké, el Colectivo El Ancón de Loíza, la Fundación Ismael Rivera y miembro de la comunidad asesora de Colectivo Ilé.
Es la mamá de Khalil Amaru y Amara Iré.
Es afrofeminista, obrera de la palabra, artista del collage y de turbantes africanos y educadora antirracista.
Esta comprometida con la justicia racial y el movimiento antirracista en Puerto Rico. Su propósito y su misión lo realiza desde las intersecciones de raza, género, espiritualidad, sanación, las estéticas africanas y las artes como catalítico para la justicia social.

Known for her commitment to racial justice and the positive representation of Black communities in Puerto Rico. Founder of Movimiento Anansé Inc. and étnica, the first multimedia platform and magazine in Puerto Rico to give visibility to and positively represent Black communities.
Author of literary works: "Hebras" and "Negro, negrito." She has also published in Teen Vogue and Afroféminas magazines, among others.

She is part of the Colectivo de Poesía Afroversiva, a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Investigative Journalism (CPI), La Colmena Cimarrona de Bieké, the El Ancón de Loíza, the Ismael Rivera Foundation, and a member of the advisory community board of Colectivo Ilé.
She is the mother of Khalil Amaru and Amara Iré.
She is an Afro-feminist, a wordsmith, a collage and African headscarf artist, and an anti-racist educator.
She is committed to racial justice and the anti-racist movement in Puerto Rico. Her purpose and mission are carried out from the intersections of race, gender, spirituality, healing, African aesthetics, and the arts as a catalyst for social justice.
